This cold water fiber reactive MX dye is known all over the world and is one of the most popular reactive dye families for textile artists. Use it for immersion dyeing, tie-dye, batik art, airbrushing, garment dyeing, screen printing, spatter painting, gradation dyeing for quilters and the list goes on!

If you ever seen someone with a bright almost electrifying tie-dyed shirt, it’s Procion MX. This is the only dye that you can fix without using heat in any form. The cold water concentrated dye, which you add tap water, is the most vivid of all dyes for cellulose fibers.

Procion dyes are permanent, colorfast and very washable. You can easily create a palette of colors ranging from light pastels to deep, vibrant hues. Typically, one 2/3 oz. bottle will dye more than 1 pound of fabric - very bright colors will require more dye, pastel colors will require less.

Procion MX fiber reactive dye will dye all cellulose (plant) fibers and some protein (animal) fibers. Common cellulose fibers are cotton, linen, jute, ramie, sisal, and rayon. For best results on protein fibers, it’s recommended that you use Jacquard Acid Dye.
